The Comanche School Board hired Hollis Auvenshine of El Segando California as Tax Assessor-Collector. Comanche Indians Open 1968 Practice With 73 Players
Head coach Houston Jolley praised the squad as 73 players reported for the first practice. Coaches expect about 10 more after school starts, with intra-squad scrimmage set and a schedule including games against Wylie and Albany. The Co manche Indian Band marks the start of the 1969 marching season with freshman marching fundamentals under way. Drum Major Carol Carney leads the band with Majorettes Leah Dudley and Vicki Scott and Color Guard Patti McKinzie. City Pool To Close This Weekend
The City of Comanche will close its public swimming pool at Lake Eanes at the end of Sunday, August 24, for repairs. It will reopen Saturday, August 30, for the Labor Day weekend from August 30 through September 1.
