1968 Farm and Ranch Conservation Report Highlights
The U S Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service presents county results for 1968. ACP share requests reached 1025 farmers and ranchers with extensive conservation work including 2198 acres permanent cover on 117 farms, 7613 acres shrub control, 42 livestock reservoirs, terracing and waterways, and crops such as peanuts and cotton with allotments, diversions, and price support payments. Red Cross Completes Hail Damage Help
Bob Love of the Red Cross announced completion of disaster operations after a June hailstorm. Twenty seven families registered for assistance, with 25 suffering losses beyond their means. Red Cross spent 4656.44 dollars on home repairs as grants with no repayment required.
