Brady men turn Angora rabbits into wool for war effort
I G Evridge and Awalt of Brady Texas have created a small industry raising Angora rabbits for wool and rabbit hair blends used in aviator clothing and civilian wear. Their 120 head flock grows from nine rabbits, with wool harvested every eleven weeks averaging about a quarter pound per rabbit. Wool brings about 5.50 a pound and U S manufacturers now rely on American growers. A breeder in Oklahoma earned a show prize for one of their rabbits.
