Funeral for Longtime Comanche County Resident J I Vancleave

J I Vancleave 79 longtime Comanche County resident died at his home in Comanche Sunday August 13 after a prolonged illness. Funeral services were held at Pendergrass Cemetery with Rev Gordon Barrett and Elder A C Nance officiating. He left a widow and ten survivors including eight children and a stepson. Born in 1860 in Roberson County he lived in Kentucky before returning to Texas and settling in Stage Creek then Comanche. He operated a hardware store from 1892 to 1903 before farming again.
