The U S Highway 67 Association will award 75 in prizes next Wednesday August 30 inviting 75 delegates from across the state and county attendees. A 25 prize plus 50 in Bowen Bus tickets will go to the best highway name submitted in advance to Charlie Cotton Chamber of Commerce Fort Worth. Fire destroys 170 acres of grass north of Comanche
Fire believed started by a careless smoker burned about 170 acres of grass on Dr. J. O. Lane ranch and adjoining Barrett land north of Comanche last Friday. Lane lost about 90 acres and Barrett 89. Comanche Fire Department with 15 firefighters responded and brought the blaze under control.
