Comanche Boys Shine at Short Course Trip
Seven farm club boys and six other travelers from Comanche attended the Farmers Short Course at A&M College, College Station. They joined lectures, demonstrations, and contests showcasing livestock, poultry, grain judging and cotton marketing with notable performances by Ro W. Fielder Daisy Fielder J.P. Hoff and county agents Barton and Norton.

Death of Mrs. G. W. Ory in Comanche
Mrs. C. W. Ory died at her Comanche home on Tuesday August 5 after weeks of illness. Funeral services were held at the residence and burial followed in Oakwood cemetery. Dr. Klingman conducted the service. She was born April 30 1857 and married to Dr. C. W. Ory December 20 1896. Survived by husband son Dr. Kenneth Ory of Desdemona daughter Mrs. R. C. Gay of San Antonio brother Edwin Kellar of Colorado and sister Mrs A. A. Riker of Dublin. The community mourns her leadership in church and social circles.

He urged serving others to build character through understanding organization and application and warned that success without happiness is not true success. He argued people must use knowledge for others, organize their work, and align material, price, and effort to create lasting business and personal fulfillment.

Revival Meeting Opens With Rev. Jack Adams Sermons
Rev Jack Adams pastor of the Hamilton Methodist church arrived in Comanche Monday afternoon and preached Monday night at the revival meeting begun Sunday at the Methodist tabernacle. He preaches twice daily and delivers earnest sermons. The meeting continues through next week with Sunday at 9 45 am an address to men’s Bible classes at W W hall.

Third Annual Comanche County School Trustees Conference
The third annual conference of Comanche County school trustees will be held at the grammar school in Comanche Saturday at 10 a m. The county school board and County Superintendent H L Gants will direct with a representative from the state department of education possibly attending. Last year about 75 trustees attended. a large turnout is expected. All trustees are invited.

Shuman v Brownwood Mutual Life settles with $1000 verdict
Mrs Louise Shuman sued Brownwood Mutual Life Insurance over the policy on Frank Shuman who died last fall. The jury awarded $1000 to the plaintiff along with attorney fees and penalties. The defense was by Wilkinson and McGaigh of Brownwood and the plaintiff was represented by J P Kearby of Comanche.
