The Comanche County REA gathers at Lake Eanes Park on August 16 for an 11 AM meeting. Seven directors will be elected and a free barbecue provided. prizes including a new refrigerator are promised. Veterans Homecoming Barbecue and Rodeo Set for August 13
Comanche County veterans will be honored with a free barbecue at Comanche Football Field and Rodeo Grounds next Tuesday night August 13. The 5:30 pm event includes beef barbecue sandwiches drinks and desserts with a post meal rodeo featuring calf and goat roping broncs and wild steers. Prizes will reward standout performances and participation is encouraged by county residents and businesses.

Comanche Independent School District Bonds Retired
On August 1 the Comanche Independent School District retired 24000 of its bonds, leaving 32000 in bonded indebtedness. Bonds were due through 1961, with 3000 due in 1946 and 21000 retired early, reducing future interest charges to about 9200.
