Comanche County voters cast nearly 5400 ballots on Saturday setting a county record with 1756 ballots in Comanche. Unopposed race winner R L Lane tallied 5326 votes as officials prepare runoffs for several positions including State Representative and County offices. Local All Stars beat Dublin 16 to 14 in a late softball game.

Reserved Seats On Sale For Comanche Annual Rodeo
Reserved seats go on sale this weekend for Comanche's annual rodeo at the local grounds on Thursday through Saturday August 15 16 17. About 500 seats are expected to sell out before performances and top rodeo stars will compete against stock from the Lightning C Ranch. Alec Alexander the nations leading Negro clown and bullfighter will headline the event approved by the Rodeo Cowboys Association with events including saddle bronc bare back bronc steer wrestling calf roping wild cow milking and a cowgirls special. The local Roping Club draws crowds each Tuesday and Thursday as interest runs high two weeks from opening.
