Local Legion Post To Attend State Convention

The American Legion Post of Comanche joins 19 other Seventeenth District posts heading to the State Legion convention in Waco on August 27. District commander elect George D. Barber of Sweetwater sponsors a motor caravan with posts entering cars bearing hood signs Our ism is Americanism 17th District American Legion. The group will assemble in Dublin for a noon luncheon then parade in Waco Monday.

J J Woolsey Family Reunion Set for August 6

A reunion of the J J Woolsey family will be held August 6 at the Starkie Bridge on the Leon River two miles east of Hasse in Comanche County. All members relatives and friends are invited to bring a basket lunch and enjoy music and entertainment arranged by the committee.

About 200 stockholders gathered at Majestic Theatre for the annual meeting jointly of the Comanche National Farm Association and the Cooperative National Farm Association. Jones Family Reunion At Lake Eanes For Third Year

The J O Jones family reunion was held at Lake Eanes in July the third time the family met there. Five Jones children and several relatives attended including brothers Tom Jones and Ernest Jones Bonham, L A Bratton, Moody Butler, and K Veach.
