Funeral services for Henry Jack Smith, 63, will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. He passed away Wednesday night in Comanche. Rev. S J Ishem of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Smith was a World War I veteran and a plumber by trade.
Fails named assistant manager of the A P Store for the past five years and with A P since 1948 is promoted to manager of the local store. Lynn Halliburton will move to Cisco to manage its A P store. Halliburton has led the local A P for the past year. The new manager, Comanche High School alum, is married to Louise Phifer daughter of County Commissioner Sam Phifer. The Fails have three sons Tim Ronnie and Kent. They reside at 1207 E Central.
Mark Callaway and W L Ferrill form Callaway & Ferrill to practice civil and criminal law. Offices stay at the Callaway location in the Bank Building. Both natives of Comanche County with notable prior service. Callaway ex district attorney and Ferrill former county attorney and insurance attorney.
Reverend Robert W. Walker of the First Methodist Church in Comanche announced a Spiritual Life Crusade starting Friday evening. The event aims to renew faith and community spirit as part of the church’s revival activities.
