The Dairy Day show in Comanche drew more than one hundred entries from top herds coordinated by the Heart of Texas Dairy Association. Judges awarded 17 blue ribbons, 42 red, 26 white, and 4 pink, with champions named for cows and bulls. 4-H and FFA teams from Eastland, Mills, Morton Valley, Gustine, Brownwood, Rising Star, Comanche, Cisco, Sidney, and Comyn competed in judging contests.

Charles R. Bragg of De Leon has completed his 50th mission as waist gunner with a 15th Army Air Force B-24 Liberator group operating from Italy. A De Leon High School graduate, he enlisted in 1942 and trained in Las Vegas Nevada earning the Air Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters.
