The Comanche women met at the courthouse to discuss women’s roles in the national industrial program and to form a women’s auxiliary to the existing men’s movement. Mrs. H. L. Stewart opened the meeting with a paper on retrenchment at home and in production. Speakers included Wm. Reese, Frank Adams, N. E. Palmer, Hilton Burks, and County Demonstrator Griffin. Poultry value in the home was urged by Mr. Hayes of Texas A&M Extension. The group created ward committees to map vacant city lots and planned executive duties, with Mrs. S. J. Hicks elected secretary and treasurer.
