Roy Harmon,, assistant coach at Santa Anna, was elected head coach of the Mountaineers this week. A graduate of Austin College, he has coached at Comanche for two years and mentored football and basketball at Santa Anna. The Harmons reside in Comanche with their two children, and Harmon is praised as both coach and science teacher.

The Comanche Chamber of Commerce met on Wednesday April 24 with 11 of 12 directors present. Ted Durham opened the session and the minutes were approved. Discussions covered member recruitment, revising the current roster, a sand analysis for glass making, and a night mail box request. Comanche County Little League Sets Plans For Season

Comanche Jaycees to sponsor the 1957 Little League season with six teams likely. Boys 9 to 12 will sign up as registration forms become available this weekend. Last year’s teams included Dudley Bros and Topper Peanuts. commissioners are Bill Parker Jimmy Carpenter and Barney Evans. Plans to form a Pony League for 13 and 14 year olds are discussed awaiting sponsors and teams.

Comanche Garden Club stage a female-free wedding pageant at the high school gym Tuesday April 30. Bride and groom are Joe Harper and Louis Marelik with more than 50 men and boys in the wedding party. Liberty Revival Begins April 2

A spring revival begins at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Comanche starting Saturday night April 27 and continues through the next week. Rev. J A Brooks of Granbury will preach with services at 7 45 nightly. Everyone is invited. The church sits on East College Avenue.
