Comanche High Plans Spring Concert May 10

The Comanche High School Symphonic Band presents its annual concert on Friday May 10 featuring all three school bands. The Beginners Band and Junior High ensemble open, followed by the High School Symphonic Band with a mix of modern and classical numbers. T.R. Atwood directs the groups and invites the public to attend.

Battons Celebrate 63rd Wedding Anniversary in Comanche

Mr and Mrs W F Batton of Comanche were honored on their 63rd anniversary with an open house hosted by their children L H Batton of Stanton and A P McShane of Dallas. Grandchildren served refreshments. yellow and white decor highlighted the cake and table. The couple wed March 29 1893 by Rev Skinner and now reside at 302 E Grand after previously farming east of Comanche.

Post Office Resumes Normal Services

Postmaster Robert L. Eaton announces that all normal services restart with full operations to the public except window service. Window hours remain eight and one half hours daily pending further Postal Department instructions. The local post office now opens window service Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00 and Saturdays until noon.

Comanche Garden Club Sponsors Womanless Wedding Night

Comanche Garden Club plans a Tuesday night event at the Comanche High School auditorium titled a Womanless Wedding. The cast, led by Jayne Harper and Nobie Dunn, features local businesspeople in roles from bride to minister with proceeds benefiting the civic improvement fund. Creath Davis Tops Regional Literary Meet in Brownwood

Creath Davis son of Mr and Mrs Vernon Davis of Comanche a Comanche High School junior won first place in extemporaneous speech at the Regional Literary Meet in Brownwood last Saturday speaking on the National Budget. He advances to the State meet in Austin May 2 and 3 and is noted as a campus leader and athlete with roles in student government.
