County Citizens Sought to Donate Blood for Comanche

Citizens of Comanche and Comanche County are urged to donate blood to Carter Blood Center to avert a serious shortage. Hospitals rely on the center and plan a Bloodmobile visit in a few weeks. at least 125 donors are needed, with sign ups at local hospitals.

Land Owners Meeting Here Next Tuesday

All land owners in Comanche County are invited to a meeting in the District Courtroom of the Comanche Courthouse at 2 p.m. The Brush Control and Range Improvement Association launches its fundraising campaign in Comanche County on April 29 to support research and education on brush control and range improvement.

District Judge Truman F.E. Roberts of the 52nd Judicial District Hamilton will figure prominently at the Texas State Bar spring conference opening Thursday in Beaumont. Junior Senior Baseball League Organized By Club

The Inner Cities Junior and Senior Baseball League held a meeting in the TP&L Hospitality Room electing Weldon Turner as president and Bo Fired as vice president. Junior Division adds two teams from Hamilton totaling eight teams with entries from Cross Plains Comanche Hamilton De Leon and Goldthwaite. Senior Division has four teams from area towns and aims for a senior team next year with Comanche Trailer Corp sponsoring. Games will be played at the new Comanche Jaycee Ball Park.

Brenda Browder of Gorman and William Fair of De Leon won the Government in Action Youth Tour final in Comanche. The juniors earned a 12 day Washington trip sponsored by Comanche County Electric Cooperative. They will join statewide winners June 6 in Waxahachie for the bus trip.

Redskin Relays Set for Friday Local Track Meet

Over 300 athletes from AA to B levels will compete Friday at the Redskin Relays. Coach Houston Jolley says more than 40 schools have inquired, with six statebound mile relay teams and top hurdlers including CHS’s Jimmy Armstrong. Field events start 3 15 pm, prelims 3 45, finals 7 30. Admission 35 and 75 cents. expected near capacity.

Fund Drive For Library Underway
