Citizens of Comanche and Comanche County are urged to donate blood to Carter Blood Center to avert a serious shortage. Hospitals rely on the center and plan a Bloodmobile visit in a few weeks. at least 125 donors are needed, with sign ups at local hospitals.
All land owners in Comanche County are invited to a meeting in the District Courtroom of the Comanche Courthouse at 2 p.m. The Brush Control and Range Improvement Association launches its fundraising campaign in Comanche County on April 29 to support research and education on brush control and range improvement.
Sidney 4 H sponsors annual dog vaccination set for Tuesday April 29 at the school bus shed in Sidney from 5 30 to 7 00 p m. Dr J H Hallmark will administer the vaccine at 1 50 per animal. All animals must be on a leash and all Sidney 4 H members will assist.
District Judge Truman F.E. Roberts of the 52nd Judicial District Hamilton will figure prominently at the Texas State Bar spring conference opening Thursday in Beaumont. As chairman of the Bar judicial section he will report on his group's programs to Bar directors. Members of the section include 254.
The Inner Cities Junior and Senior Baseball League held a meeting in the TP&L Hospitality Room electing Weldon Turner as president and Bo Fired as vice president. Junior Division adds two teams from Hamilton totaling eight teams with entries from Cross Plains Comanche Hamilton De Leon and Goldthwaite. Senior Division has four teams from area towns and aims for a senior team next year with Comanche Trailer Corp sponsoring. Games will be played at the new Comanche Jaycee Ball Park.

An intention to contest the April 5 1969 election in Comanche County Justice Precinct No 4 over off premises sale of alcoholic beverages was filed April 18. The notice lists residents alleged to have voted who were not residents, and cites grounds for illegal votes affecting the outcome. The county attorney and commissioners respond citing regularity and seek ballot impoundment. More license applications follow as court fight looms.
A junior high track meet will be held Monday April 28 from 4 45 to 8 p m. Seventh and eighth graders from Comanche Goldthwaite Hico and Bangs will compete.

Brenda Browder of Gorman and William Fair of De Leon won the Government in Action Youth Tour final in Comanche. The juniors earned a 12 day Washington trip sponsored by Comanche County Electric Cooperative. They will join statewide winners June 6 in Waxahachie for the bus trip.
Over 300 athletes from AA to B levels will compete Friday at the Redskin Relays. Coach Houston Jolley says more than 40 schools have inquired, with six statebound mile relay teams and top hurdlers including CHS’s Jimmy Armstrong. Field events start 3 15 pm, prelims 3 45, finals 7 30. Admission 35 and 75 cents. expected near capacity.
Work has proceeded all week on the Friends of the Co marche Public Library membership drive. The drive offers $25 for otreus, $5 for supporting memberships, and $1 for voting memberships. Members are urged to turn payments to Mrs. L. C. Durham or Mrs. James Wilkerson.
Airman Jerry Vines leads a banquet committee refining details for the Chamber of Commerce event at PAR Country Club Saturday May 3. Rev Staley Hackley and Minister Dale Scott will deliver Invocation and Benediction with music by Mrs James Mercer. Community Service Award details remain secret until the May 8 banquet.
