Comanche to open a free swimming area at Lake Eanes next week with a fourfold pool expansion. Construction last week widened the pool and dredged the creek, creating eight tenths of a mile of water from six to fifteen feet deep. A shallow gravel bottom area from three to four and a half feet deep connects to a kiddies pool, island and trees. A ladies bath house will be provided.

Merlin Pat Faulkner 19, son of Mrs Wylie McCarty of Comanche, died Tuesday afternoon in Hamilton after a Chevrolet Coupe left a bridge on the Indian Gap and Pecan Belt highway and overturned. He was found semi conscious and died from chest injuries while being transported by Higginbotham ambulance. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery. Taillights or further details were not available.
Thieves forced entry by tearing away a rear window at the residence of G G Douglass in East Comanche Sunday evening. They stole 115 dollars in cash a watch a necklace two rings and disrupted the home leaving clothes strewn about and beds unmade while the purse containing valuables was emptied from a box.
Work to cover Highway No. 10 from Isham place three miles east of Comanche to the city limits will finish this week per Jno S Hart. Completing this section ends a long bad stretch on the Comanche Dublin road and paving will proceed on the DeLeon road to Van Dyke.
County Agent J B Barton announces a seed exchange plan to ship certified cotton seed to Fort Worth for planting. Farmers bring three bushel multiples of ginned seed to weigh at C F Denny, receive a weight certificate, then deliver to Carroll Black at Cotton Belt Depot. Seed for trade arrives April 25 and 27, with aim of a full carload by May 2. buyers may select any certified variety and specify it to Black.
EL McNatt, manager of Chief Dry Cleaning, this week added a Hoffman Ricar Buck Press to his shop, making it one of the best equipped in the area.
Cecil Lindley, said to be under indictment for forgery in Comanche County, was arrested at Lubbock and brought to Comanche by Sheriff Dwight Brightman and placed in jail Saturday. Lindley is said to have been indicted in 1920.
With the assistance of Tot Cunningham, we recovered George Goosby’s motometer within hours after his ad appeared. Cunningham located the item and guided Goosby to the exact spot. The incident shows advertising aids in finding lost articles.
Approximately a carload of mohair has shipped from Comanche with buyers reporting prices from 15 to 30 cents per pound. Small wool consignments have been trucked out. about two cars remain in storage with prices noted between 16 and 19 1/2 cents. Local visits include Mrs. W. L. Hamilton and daughter of Lamkin. Route 6: Grady Swindel and others to receive Ritz family passes on April 28. Rev. Ren F. Hearn of Mineral Wells visited Comanche.
District Judge Joe Lidson made permanent a temporary injunction blocking the Southwest Gas Company from disconnecting fourteen subscribers who failed to pay by February 10 1931 after a two day trial. The injunction originally dated February 17 was granted by Judge Eidson.
Ten chas of sheep are shipped in three weeks by J A Lee and Albert Cunningham. The consignments largely come from surplus mutton this spring and reflect a rising sheep industry with previously limited shipments expanding into a more formidable mutton market.

Judge Joe Eidson urged a full Grand Jury to investigate all violations including gaming prostitution and bootlegging saying officers need their aid. He warned against unforeseen juror risk and praised the jury system as a safeguard to American liberty while addressing DeLeon High School Law Class students.
