Drilling was slated for May 15 but may be postponed. Five thousand acres are already leased with negotiations ongoing for the rest. Part sits in Comanche and the remainder in Hamilton counties.

Best Revival In Years Ends At ME Church
After a two weeks session at the Methodist Church the revival ended with 41 additions on Sunday and more to follow. Over one hundred conversions were reported and several names were given for church membership, notably in the Baptist Church. Rev. Herman Cochran the "Cowhand Evangelist" led the meetings using alley camp meeting methods, keeping crowds inside from three to five hours nightly. Sam Raborn of Ashland Kentucky directed the singing with a strong voice and effective leadership.

Twenty nine oil leases were filed in the County Clerk's office as activity rises around Amnity Gap and nearby areas. Drilling continues on McDaniel No 1 in Gap and Smith No 1 in Amnity. In Desdemona's Comanche County area the Gallaher Lawson et al No 1 reports progress at 4955 feet after a drill stem test noted five gallons of sulphur and salt water. A gas showing was deemed nonconsequential by operators. The Hodges well at Custer area flowed after swabbing, blowing some tools from the well, oil rising high in the air. Dad Joiner, East Texas field discoverer, inspected the Duster area and bought several leases.

Services For Gun Shot Victim Held
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Greg McGlothlin 48 who died Sunday afternoon from gunshot wounds to the forehead at Lamkin. Elder Len Dalton officiated and pallbearers included J. W. Miller Willi Glasgow Ruff White Paul Neel D. L. Miller and Richard Burt. Flowers were provided by Mrs. J. L. Neel Mrs. D. L. Truett and Mrs. Paul Neel with assistance from Neville Hamilton Joe Rae and Frankie White. The shooting occurred at his mother's home where two shots were fired about 4 15 Sunday afternoon as family members believed he was shooting at birds. He is survived by his mother four sisters and five brothers.

Twenty one indictments involving sixteen men and boys were returned by the grand jury by five o clock Thursday afternoon. One misdemeanor for false imprisonment. the rest felonies. Forgery led with five indictments against one man and two against another, plus two burglary, one burglary of a residence, three thefts of wool, one murder, two driving while intoxicated, two thefts of turkeys, one wife desertion, and one car theft.
