Year-old Linda Rae Musick Drowns in Cree Creek
Linda Rae Musick three year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Musick drowned in Helmsleys Creek north of Pettit on Tuesday about 6 pm. Funeral services were held at Gentries Chapel with interment at Gentrys Mill Cemetery. She wandered away from home while meeting her brother and was found in the water after a search. The family spokesman said she slipped back into the creek and strangled.

Earl Jenkins Buys Herd of Registered Hereford Cattle
Comanche farmer Earl Jenkins bought 30 registered Hereford cattle last week from Brady rancher T. Brown. The Domino strain includes a fine herd bull and several cows with calves. Jenkins plans to run Herefords on one farm and keep Jerseys on his home place seven miles from Comanche on the old Hamilton highway.

Son Taken By Plane For Treatment In Pacific
Mrs. A. J. Boucher learned this week her son A. W. Wilson was flown from the South Pacific to Bougainville for treatment. He has two brothers in service, one in the Pacific and one in France, brothers of Mrs. J. B. Lowry and Mrs. George Lowry.

The Seventh War Loan Drive is now underway in Comanche County to secure an E Bond quota of 280000 dollars, up 100000 from the last drive. County War Finance Chairman Roland Miller called a courthouse meeting to plan an intensive campaign urging everyone to buy to the limit. Troops of the North and South met in the first battle of the Civil War on July 21, 1861.

Comanche Captain Beaty Killed in France March 29
Capt Wendell Beaty son of Mr and Mrs B F Beaty Newburg community was killed in a French aircraft accident. The P-51 pilot named his plane Comanche after his home town. He had 47 combat missions and one air victory, earned the Air Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters. He taught at Concho Field before overseas and was a 1939 Comanche High School graduate then a junior at Howard Payne College. Burial was in Liege Belgium. Surviving are parents sisters Patsy Wanda Mrs Walter Liss Brownwood Mrs Gerald Corby Patsy and Wanda Beaty and Billy Beaty. Sgt Melvin Beaty is in England nearby his brother’s base.
