Comanche Public Schools Week Lunch Menu List

The week of April 22 to 26 menus show daily offerings. Monday features pig in blanket with cream corn lettuce salad milk and peach halves. Tuesday includes pinto beans greens cabbage slaw banana pudding cornbread milk. Wednesday serves barbecue on sun blackeye peas savory rice pickles purple plum cobbler milk. Thursday offers potato boats sweet peas peanut butter crackers fruit Jello batter bread milk. Friday presents fish sticks with catsup green beans macaroni and tomatoes spiced beets hot rolls butter and syrup milk.

Florida Visitors Honored With Fish Fry

Mr and Mrs Earl Stapp hosted a fish fry at Lake Proctor honoring the Worthington family of Tarpon Springs Florida. Attendees included numerous relatives and friends from Carrollton Arlington Austin Lake Whitney and Comanche among others. Also noted is W T Parkman's release from Dublin Hospital and a Goldthwaite Easter visit by Steve Patrick and Cecil Houck.

Comanchero Riding Club Sets Open Playdays in Comanche

The Comanchero Riding Club lists two open playdays in Comanche on April 28 and May 19. They note strong local donations for trophies, invite further gifts, and thank supporters. A Brownwood playday on April 7 saw four trophies earned by Trampus Coan Threasa Buchanan Terry Tupin and Jean Sibert.

Mrs. Mary E. Cox Rites Held in Brownwood

Mrs. Mary E. Cox 78 of 1812 Vincent Brownwood died after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at Davis Morris Funeral Home with Rev. Archie Phillips and Rev. Oscar Fanning officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery Comanche. She moved to Brownwood from Comanche 44 years ago and was a Milton Ave Baptist Church member. Survivors include three sons Billy Cox and Judy Cox of Brownwood plus other relatives.

Harold Beck of 341 Amarillo Abilene died Thursday after a yearlong illness in Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene. Funeral 4 p.m. Saturday Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories Abilene with Rev. Howard Ingram officiating. Burial in Tye Cemetery. Survivors include wife Lorene Abbott Beck two sons a daughter two stepsons and two stepdaughters, plus 19 grandchildren.

Gerald Donaldson Davis 63 died Friday at his home in Comanche. Services were Monday at Comanche Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. ministers Gary Colley and Dave Scott officiated. He was born December 14 1910 in Comanche and married Myrtle Pyburn in 1939. He was a retired electrician with survivors including his wife a Houston daughter three sisters and two grandchildren.

Mrs Harrison 98 Dies in Gustine After Long Illness

Mrs Florence T Harrison 98 of Gustine died Wednesday in a local hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church Gustine with ministers officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. She married Jesse Oliver Harrison in 1903. Survived by a niece Lois Allen and sister Nan Pearce among others.
