FFA Team Second In State Land Judging Contest
The Comanche Chapter of Future Farmers of America placed second in the State Land judging contest at Tarleton State University. Team members were Brett Keith Brian Bingham Beryl Bailey and Steve Davis. Brett Keith was second High Individual and Brian Bingham fourth High Individual. About 150 members from across the state competed. judges noted staff and the team will head to a national event in Oklahoma City May 1 and 2.

Bill Wilson Convicted of Arson in Comanche County Case
Comanche resident Bill Wilson was found guilty of arson by a S2nd Judicial District Court jury of eight women and four men. He received a five year sentence to the Texas Department of Corrections, with probation previously lifted on a 1973 aggravated assault conviction. The arson stemmed from a March 5 jail cell fire in Comanche County, during which Wilson was jailed for a wrecking yard operator. The trial, held before Judge Byron McClellan, involved state witnesses from police and sheriff departments and the fire department, with defense offering no witnesses.
