Rogers of Sidney Scores 9 Points At District Meet
Ewell Rogers of Sidney High School scored nine points at the District Track and Field Meet of the Interscholastic League in Brownwood last Saturday. He placed third overall among 100 plus athletes and won the broad jump, placed second in the 100 yard dash, and fourth in the discus. Whiskey Seized at Comanche Station in Aldecent Raid
Comanche County officers raided Boliver Blakemore’s service station Monday afternoon seizing six one half pints and one pint of whiskey. Blakemore arrested on possession of intoxicating liquor for sale and posted a $300 bond. Sheriff Wid Spivey Deputy Manley Stone and Constable Odis Braziel conducted the raid.

WPA improvements to 11.6 miles of county roads from Sidney west for 10 miles and around Sipe Springs were finished April 15 per WPA District Director John C. Stiley. Federal funds $28,600 covered part. Comanche County Commissioners Court provided $13,562, totaling 42162. Also 3 masonry bridges totaling 138 feet and 18 masonry culverts totaling 300 feet were built.
