Official Dairy Day Planned for April 22 at Rodeo Grounds

The Official Dairy Day will be held in Comanche on Wednesday April 22 at the Rodeo Grounds. The program begins at 10:00 am with dairy product judging and a dairy cattle judging contest for Comanche County FFA teams, followed by adult and junior divisions. Lunch runs from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Classification of animals starts at 1:00 pm with classes for females and bulls, ribbons assigned from Class A to E, best females and bulls earning purple rosettes. Everyone is invited to bring cows to be classified.

Baptist Revival Underway at Comanche Church

The Comanche Baptist Church conducts its annual revival with services now held twice daily led by Rev. E. G. Gregory Jr. Rain has kept crowds small, but organizers expect larger attendances as weather clears. Tommie Godfrey performs solos while the pastor preaches. Everyone is invited.

Plane Crash Kills Man Near Sipe Springs

F R Seyforthe, 37, of Abilene, was killed instantly when his private plane crashed near Sipe Springs 18 miles northwest of Comanche during a landing in heavy mist. Deputy Stone said the crash occurred as he attempted a landing. the body was moved to Comanche Funeral Home.

Elections Here Draw 37 Votes In Comanche

A total of 37 votes were polled in Comanche across two elections with 14 in the Independent School trustee race and 23 in the City election. Robert Eaton and Roy Brannan were re-elected trustees, while A A Massingill C W Williams and Walter Barret were re-elected to the City Council, with all candidates receiving all votes.
