About 3 500 feet of paving on the Stephenville to Dublin stretch of Highway 10 was completed by Thursday night with a predicted daily progress of roughly a quarter mile. Grading and drainage for Paluxy River bridge are underway. bridge construction starts next week. Planting of shrubbery and flowers east of Stephenville is due to finish by month end, with the full project expected by mid April.
The Carbon Peanut Company of Carbon is remodeling its plant with a new large warehouse and upgraded equipment to boost shelling capacity. Two stories are added to the shelling mill, creating a modern four story building upon completion.
Miss Miriam Brookner, 15, of Beaumont High School Glee Club, was killed when her car collided with another near Elkhart on April 4. Cain was killed at Stamford in a truck train crash.

About 10 000 attendees expected and 70 to 75 Home Town King entries anticipated. A West Texas band contest will judge marching and massed concert at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall with prizes of 50 25 and 10 dollars.
Albert Tobe Greer was elected head football coach at Monahans High School in a letter to his mother Mrs J C Greer. A former Comanche High School Indian captain Greer played college football at Texas Tech and was regarded as an outstanding player.

Pettit High School stages A Family of Five tonight with both boys and girls cast. Principal H H Lockridge says a small admission charge will be collected to benefit the athletic fund.
A new five room frame residence is being erected on East Third Street just east of the E H Rauhut home for Mr and Mrs Grady McKinzie. The house is described as a neat dwelling that will be a nice home when completed.
Will A. Irby of the Fairview area has erected a new residence on his farm following a recent house fire that destroyed his prior home.
Stephenville, March 31. The John Tarleton College summer school will open its first term on June 2, according to a college bulletin mailed this week.
The State Highway Commission allocated 71000 for Highway 30 and 21900 for Highway 36 East. Hilton Burks, secretary of the local Chamber of Commerce, reported the decision Wednesday morning. Park Huntington, resident engineer for Comanche, estimates this funding plus existing approvals will complete the road to Union Cemetery.
Horace Geye of Comanche and Elbert Steele of Sidney assisted Ty A Hensarling head of Tarleton College poultry department in judging poultry and eggs at Tarleton Poultry plant last Saturday. Contestants judged two classes each of White Leghorns Barred Plymouth Rocks and Rhode Island Reds two classes of white eggs and one class of brown eggs. Geye is a Tarleton agriculture junior and Steele a senior.
The entire Proctor school faculty was re-elected for another year except for Mr. Allison who was not an applicant. The list includes Supt. L. S. Williams Mrs. L. B. Williams Miss Katherine Milhollin Miss Faye Jones Vernon Welch and Mrs. Grace Nichols. Milhollin will join Hico school and will not return to Proctor next year.
George M. Kearney, former manager of Hamilton Drug Store, becomes druggist at Sutton Dudley Drug Store. He is son of the late W. B. Kearney and arrives from Corpus Christi where he ran a pharmacy for about years. He is a trained pharmacist with wide experience.
Comanche School Board adds two teachers to handle rising attendance as enrollment climbs toward 959 students across three schools. Mrs Reese and Mrs Smith join 27 teachers, reflecting a 33 percent rise in two years.
L. B. McAnnally has been reelected head of the Van Dyke School. Other teachers reelected are Mrs. Dovin Froh and Miss Opal Thomas.
A Gustine boy selected to speak for Tarleton at Temple Junior College next Friday. The student is associated with the junior college cultural department and will represent Tarleton in a state speaking event.
Former Representative Thomas L. Blanton of Texas sues the Washington Post publisher Eugene Meyer for 600000 alleging a malicious campaign of libel and defamation to ruin his congressional career. The suit outlines six counts each seeking 100000.
