Dublin Baptists Call New Pastor
At a Dublin conference the First Baptist Church unanimously called Rev. Obey Nelson, currently pastor at Cornell Memorial Baptist Church in Fort Worth, to lead Dublin. Nelson will assume by April 15, replacing the church’s absent pastor since January. The 600-member congregation recently finished $2,500 repairs. an electric organ is planned for May. Nelson has six years at Fort Worth and previously led congregations at Mt. Calm and Royce City.

John Manning Arthur, 19, son of Mr and Mrs J H Arthur of Comanche, completed United States Naval Reserve Midshipmen's School training at Navy Pier Chicago and was commissioned ensign. He will report April 13 to the Navy Yard Washington DC for reassignment after leave with parents. He studied at Northwestern University and Texas A&M previously.
