Leslie H. Hardy 34 of Comanche died Sunday at German Hospital after a long illness following a fall from a ladder while painting at Camp Swift near Bastrop. Services were held at Comanche Funeral Home led by Rev. R. B. Hooper and Rev. E. G Gregory Jr. Interment in Board Church Cemetery. Survived by mother Ida Parker Comanche daughter Vera Nell two brothers Ezra McGregor and Willie Stamford sister Mrs Marvin Dodd Corpus Christi. Hardy had joined the Methodist Church in 1930 and lived most of his life around Houston before moving to Comanche after his injury.

Colquitt Ev ridge Williams 37 manager of Higginbotham Bros. Co Rising Star and president of Central Texas Gas Company died in a Galveston hospital after a yearlong illness. Services were held at his parents home with Rev. Taylor and Rev. E G Gregory Jr. officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Williams was born January 26 1906 in Comanche and educated locally then Baylor and Texas Tech. He led civic groups including Rising Star Chamber of Commerce and Boy Scouts troop committee and helped promote the Free Fall Fair. He was married to Addie Lou Posey with two sons and leaves three brothers and two sisters.

Arrest Arrested For Child Desertion In De Leon
I F Metcalfe was arrested Wednesday morning by Sheriff Perry St Clair at De Leon and is held to face charges of child desertion. Metcalfe was indicted by the April term grand jury in 1942 and has been a fugitive since then. He was also wanted by the FBI for failure to report to his Selective Service Board in Bosque County.
