Hyland Jury Returns Four Guilty Eight Not Guilty In Bank Robbery Trial
In the Addy bank robbery case of Clarence Hyland alias Jimmie Valentine the jury returned a split verdict at 11:45 p m Wednesday seven hours after deliberations. Hyland faced charges of taking part in the June 11 bank heist as the jury reported four for conviction and eight for acquittal. The trial began Monday with witnesses including Clarence Ostrum cashier and Mrs Ostrum detailing the crime and Hyland’s alleged involvement.
