Ethelbert DeHart died after a tree butt struck his chest while felling the tree 16 miles east of Colville near Dominon on Friday afternoon June 11. He died about 15 minutes later. He was 46, born in Fairbank Indiana, survived by his widow and daughter, with brothers and a father in Colville. Funeral held Monday with Rev John M Huggins officiating. Knights of Pythias officers elected for the ensuing term and district convention set for June 26 at Northport. A petition seeks guardianship for Leslie M Hart, claiming back marine salary and disability pay from his discharge, with a hearing July 3.
