The First Thought Gold Mines Limited plans a 100 ton cyanide mill near the ore body to restart operations in Stevens County. The project, debt free, would expand to 300 tons later with bonds backed by Security Trust Co. and stock escrow to protect the venture.
Monday work began on a two story building at the corner of First and Oak to house the Old Dominion Creamery city council chambers and fire hall. It will measure 60 by 120 feet on the former city hall site and include storage rooms for butter eggs ice candling and a freezing room plus a 20 by 80 council room and a 20 by 30 fire equipment room.
Washington Water Power Co receives a preliminary three year permit for Columbia River Kettle Falls power development. The plan outlines three stages raising head from 85 to 75 feet and total output of 158,400 horsepower. Land may be flooded and dams built with final license sought after plan completion.

Judge D. H. Carey was named chairman of a Washington judges committee to draft a uniform set of court regulations. He will select six members to revise the rules to standardize practice across Washington. The panel reports to the Seattle meeting on July 1 and to the Tacoma session August 1–3 alongside the State Bar Association.
The Knights of Pythias plan a picnic at the Arden dame on Thursday July 20 for members and families. Transportation is arranged and those needing a ride should see J C Hard. Supper is at 6 15 with a committee of W W Campbell J C Hard B W Winery F S Thomas and C R Wiley. Members are asked to bring bathing suits dancing pumps picnic clothes and be comfortable. Leaves Colville for the grounds between 2 and 5 p m.
