Colville Baseball Season Ends With Two Wins Over Marcus
Colville finished its 12 game schedule with 117 runs for and 56 against, losing only two. Hydorn led batting at .471 with 11 hits in 45 at bats, while Underwood and Graham followed. two home runs were hit by Hydorn and Exley. Colville defeated Marcus 12 to 7 in the final week, Hydorn pitching well and Graham collecting four hits and four runs. The season closes with optimism and prospect of Canadian games ahead.

Savings and Loan Pays Dividend 4 Percent
The Colville Valley Savings and Loan association paid a semi annual dividend of four percent on June 30. Founded in 1921 with 50 stockholders, now 75 on the books, it has $250,000 authorized capital with $100 shares. It loaned over $10,000 in Colville for new homes. Officers are O. F Vinson president C L Baker vice president H R Williams secretary treasurer, all unpaid. Any person may join with payments from one dollar monthly, earning interest.

June Cow Testing Results From Colville High School
The Colville agriculture class entered forty cows for June testing in two herds. Holsteins from Mr. Maurer lead with most cows producing over 20 pounds of butterfat, while Mr. Hartnett’s grade Shorthorns show strong results with one over 33 pounds. Fourth of July Fire Damages Hobbs Residence
Fire destroyed the upstairs of E. F. Hobbs home on East Beach on July 4 as the Hobbs family had left to visit relatives. The blaze started near the kitchen chimney and spread up the house aided by a north wind. The lower floor was saved but the roof and upstairs were badly damaged. insurance partly covered the loss.

Auto Accident Injures Three In Ditch Turn
A Dodge driven by John Gardner of Chewelah overturned after slipping off a road at a sharp right turn beyond the Standard Oil plant Monday morning. Occupants were John Gardner, his wife, their daughter Margaret, and Mrs. Frank Huguenin. Mrs. Huguenin dislocated her hip and remained in Mt. Carmel hospital. Margaret Gardner had a minor facial cut. John Gardner and Mrs. Gardner suffered minor bruises. Mrs. Huguenin will remain hospitalized until fit to go home.
