The National Livestock Feeders Association urged the U S Agriculture Department to adjust farm crop disaster programs to avoid punishing farmers who cut damaged corn for silage or graze fields. NLFA cited last minute changes and proposed charging based on appraised grain yield, with a 10 to 20 percent variation for silage and a flat 10 percent grazing deduction, pending a cutoff date.
