Miles Norton and Loren McElravy of David City have been chosen to attend the United Nations Youth Seminar in Washington, D.C. and New York, N.Y., in October 1929. They are sons of Mr and Mrs James Norton and Mr and Mrs Harold McElravy. The Nebraska youths participate in a 40 day tour sponsored by United Methodist, Congregational, Presbyterian and Christian Churches, representing the East Central District of the United Methodist Church.

Barbara Schott, daughter of Mgr and Mrs Raymond Schott, sustained a broken leg and cuts in a Wednesday car pedestrian crash on 72nd Street near her college in Omaha. She was treated at Bergan Mercy Hospital.
Osceola hosts a Tuesday safety program under the title Tel Yourself and Help Your Neighbor featuring the new SLAP program Selective Localized Accident Prevention to be introduced by an Extension Safety specialist. Rex Scoll of the Office of Highway Safety Council will discuss highway safety sponsored by the Polk County Women's Safety Federation and Polk County Extension Clubs inviting safety-minded residents to attend. The report also notes the Rev Eugene D Beye, pastor of United Methodist churches in Har a and Ceresca, has been appointed pastor of Creighton Nebraska churches.
