Officials of Becton Dickinson will visit the Santee Sioux Reservation in northern Nebraska Friday to dedicate a new 14,000 square foot plant to be staffed by reservation residents. Don LaPointe. tribal chairman and plant supervisor. and Fairleigh Dickinson Jr., board chairman, praised the effort to foster self sufficiency through an industrial park. Executives from other B D plants will join in the visit and 40 to 60 jobs are projected. The plant will employ Santee in light manufacturing and packaging. Pair booked here after window-breaking spree
Two 1-year-olds were arrested by Columbus Police Monday night after a window-breaking spree causing nearly 1200 dollars in damage. Edward LeRoy Riebschlager of Pueblo Colorado was booked on two charges malicious injury to property and discharging firearms in city limits. Harvey John Mayer of Nebraska City was also charged with discharging a firearm in city limits. Bond set at 2000 dollars. Complaints not yet filed by county attorney this morning though Riebschlager appeared at a bond hearing in Platte County Court Tuesday. The pair allegedly used an air rifle to break windows at Dr Seeger office Loup Power District offices First National Bank Garber Racing Enterprises Larrys Liquor and Columbus Federal Savings and Loan.

Platte College reports 872 students enrolled for the Columbus campus, a 7.2 percent rise from last year.
