Three Arab gunmen stormed the Syrian embassy in Rome, taking hostages to protest Palestinian killings in Lebanon. They surrendered after an hour as Italian police ringed the building. An embassy consular officer Humin Hatem was wounded, two Italian workers injured, and others treated for shock.
