Arrests Linked to Burglary in Columbus Case
Two Lincoln men were arrested by Platte County Sheriff’s officers in connection with the August 18 burglary of Tooley Drug in Columbus. Richard Lutes Jr. faces 13 felonies, including burglary and 12 drug counts, with bond set at 25 000. Christy Blanchard is charged as an accessory after the fact with 1000 cash bond. Preliminary hearing next Tuesday. Additional suspects Robert Lindhurst and Larry Morrow were arrested the day after and face multiple charges.

Nursing homes receive swine flu vaccines in Columbus area
Nursing home patients at Columbus Manor and Morys Haven were given swine flu vaccines today. Three vaccine types exist: Bivalent for older adults and chronically ill ages 18 to 45, Monovalent for generally healthy 18 to 45, and Split for 3 to 18 with chronic illness. two doses for Split four weeks apart. Freeze Warning Hits Eastern Nebraska As Temperatures Plunge
The National Weather Service issued a hard freeze warning for eastern Nebraska tonight with temps dropping into the 20s. A high pressure system over the Nebraska Panhandle brings cool dry air, offshore winds, and a dry, clear pattern through Friday night.
