A federal appeals court reversed the convictions of four Chicago Seven defendants who were found guilty of crossing state lines to incite rioting during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Cleared were David Dellinger Abbie Hoffman Rennie Davis Jerry Rubin and Tom Hayden.
ALBION The Barracks 2549 World War I Veterans of Boone County and their auxiliaries held a potluck dinner Sunday noon at the Veteran's Club. Legion members and their wives attended from Petersburg, Cedar Rapids, 81, Edward and Albion. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Havelstad and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Eggleston of Albion and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Anderson of Newman Grove. Mrs. Herman Fstrom showed slides of a trip to Norway. Next meeting will be a pot luck Christmas dinner Dec 17 with a gift exchange.

Lexington Va November 4 ceremony inducted sixty four former VMI athletes into the first VMI Sports Hall of Fame. William P Venable from Columbus Nebraska, class of 1922, earned monograms in football and wrestling 1919 to 1922 and captained the 1922 wrestling team while also lettered in boxing and managing basketball.
Helena Montana officials say the state has 184 one room classrooms in operation this year, a reduction of 19 from last year according to the state superintendent of public instruction.
A Minatare widow faced hardship in Gallup after her daughter Celeste Chavez and granddaughter Melissa were injured in a crash. Funds were sought to return Celeste's body and cover hospital costs while the grandmother arranged transport and care for the injured child. Officials noted an estimated $860 needed to bring Celeste home, with total expenses around $1,100, though a Scottsbluff funeral chapel arranged for the body to be shipped back, easing funds concerns.
