Transportation deregulation sparks industry opposition
In Washington, major industry groups oppose Ford's deregulation plan for trucking, airlines, and railways. Truckers and the airline lobbyest denounce the move as risky, citing potential rate wars and service disruptions. Railroads, less worried, favor modest easing to stay competitive. A separate note from San Francisco covers Sara Jane Moore's mental-competency hearing ahead of trial.
