Dyas Leads Nebraska Democrats in Senate Poll
A statewide poll of county Democratic chairmen and the State Central Committee shows Hess Dyas leading Omaha Mayor Ed Zorinsky for the Democratic Senate nomination. Dyas received 102 votes to Zorinsky's 17 in the anonymous mail ballot survey conducted by the Nebraska Young Democrats.

Ransom Pad Kidnaped Boy Returns Unharmed
Timothy Stempel the 13 year old son of GM executive Robert C. Stempel was returned unharmed after a ransom payment of 150000. He had been abducted Monday in Bloomfield Township and held about 54 hours. Banks were closed for a Veterans Day holiday delaying the ransom. Police report Timothy freed outside a western Wayne County hospital. Three California men were detained in Columbus for narcotics theft from Behlen Community Hospital with some drugs recovered.
