Community Leaders Launch Hospital Expansion Drive

Community leaders gathered for a dinner and briefing to start the Columbus Community Hospital Expansion Fund Drive. Nine Teams Enter Grand National Mixed Bag Hunt in Columbus

Nine teams participate in the Grand National Mixed Bag Hunt and Conservation Days in the Columbus area. Wholesale prices rise 0.6 percent in October fuels inflation risk

The Labor Department reports October wholesale prices up 0.6 percent led by a 1 percent jump in industrial costs driven by fuel, power, lumber and autos. Farm prices fall 12 percent and food prices drop 0.7 percent while the index shows 3.5 percent annual rise.

Columbus teachers face salary talks with board over base and benefits

Industrial Relations Court may aid in setting pay for 1976 77 Columbus City Schools teachers. The CEA and Board of Education largely agree on base of about 8 599 with increases for experience and education, while insurance plans spark contention. A fact finding panel backed the board on most points except insurance. The board proposed raising the base to 8 539, and comparisons with Fremont and other districts show total compensation varies widely.
