CTCCA approves 10 percent tuition rise for 1977-78

Central Technical Community College Area Board raises resident tuition to 330 for two semesters, from 300, to align with peer rates as enrollment in Hastings, Columbus, and Grand Island campuses reaches about 4,790 with total area enrollment near 16,000. The board also plans a 1977-78 budget review and proposes dropping the Hastings civil engineering program due to costs and availability elsewhere.

Final approval given tax phaseout action

Lincoln Neb up tbp final approval today to a bill phasing out personal property taxes on farm equipment business inventories and livestock. The measure faces an urban rural split and would shift tax relief funding toward a property tax relief fund with a 70 million dollar state contribution by 1980.
