Over three Mondays Lincoln School fourth to sixth graders took part in mini courses on arts and crafts guided by Mrs Genelda Rayburn. Students chose from cooking decoupage string art clay modeling and quilting among others with supervision by staff and one helping mother.

Summer program for handicapped children opens
The Platte County Association for Retarded Citizens sponsors a summer program for physically and mentally handicapped children in Columbus. Runs June 9 through August at Fairacres Schools Monday to Thursday 9 30 am to 2 30 pm with academies arts crafts recreation field trips and picnics. Coordinator Sylvia Johnson assisted by Columbus Youth ARC volunteers invites interested parents to enroll before June 9 or attend the first session.
