The University of Nebraska Agricultural Experiment Station announces two new soybean varieties, Ditkey 71 and Amway 71, developed at Puordwe University. Release occurred in February and August 1978 with commercial production planned for 1972, in cooperation with other Experiment Stations.
Government statisticians report Nebraska commercial hatcheries produced 1,857,000 chicks in April, down 1 percent from a year earlier. The state division notes declines in bell and broiler chick production as mines were recorded for depreciation and other factors.
