Second honeymoon without the KGB and a family reunion
Baltimore Symphony violinist Gorin and his wife Sophia sought exit visas from the Soviet Union with their two daughters. Sophia joined a Moscow demonstration on June 3 1975 resulting in KGB interrogations and job loss. The family was later allowed to leave and reunite in New York and Baltimore as they planned new lives in the United States. Ronald Smith calls the recruitment of Gorin a major coup.
