Transit system back to normal in Philadelphia
The Eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority said full service would be restored for the morning rush hour ending a strike that halted transit for 400,000 commuters. Mayor Frank L. Rizzo praised the ratification vote ending the citys longest transit dispute in 68 years and the impact on traffic and sales.

Cubmaster dies of electrical shock at Scout-O-Rama
Cubmaster died from an electrical shock while erecting a gateway for the Wagon Wheel Scout-O-Rama at Eugene C. Eppley Salvation Army Camp south of Bellevue. Air Force Sgt. Kim M. Hogerheide, 23, of Offutt AFB, died Friday after an aluminium pole touched overhead wires. Chester Addison of Omaha was hospitalized with burns but in good condition.
