WASHINGTON AP Nebraska's two largest cities Lincoln and Omaha posted decreases in several crime categories in 1971 according to preliminary FBI figures cited by Acting Attorney General Richard G Kleindienst. Lincoln fell in three categories and Omaha in five while nationwide crime rose six percent, with final figures to be released in summer.

David City instructors Sister Mercy Borders and Sister Mildred Christoph lead the newly organized Association of Media Educators in Nebraska AMEN. The group, formed to study use and production of films, sponsors a Telekelics film festival Film The Reel World No Two on April 8 at Concordia Teachers College. Dr. Jack L Middendarl directs the event with associate producer Corinne Hart presenting Teleketics theory. Other officers include Sister Pat Kowaliski James Titterington Elizabeth Sims and Gladys Fox.
St Edward FFA Chapter members Blain Condreau Allen Hall Louis Diles and Kenny Jenking won the contest at Burwell with the traveling trophy awarded by Burwell President Mike Stitz. Condreau was second high individual and Joe Drag third. othersTop ten finishers included Rick Mahoney and Kim Baustert as fifteen members attended.

Grand York Rite Masonic Bodies of Nebraska schedule annual meetings April 4 to 7 at the Masonic Temple Chadron. The 92nd Grand Council assembly opens April 4 with Grand Master Donald G. Hater presiding. 106th Grand Chapter convocation opens April 5 under Grand High Priest Charles E. Baker. 10th Grand Commandery convocation begins April 6 with Grand Commander Ehm J. Sorensen presiding. A banquet is planned April 5. events include devotions, memorials, and open installations for ladies.
Gov. J. James Exon announced he would sign LB1032 into law with reservations. The act overhauls the county court system, removing justice of the peace and magistrate courts. The state will pay salaries and operating costs, estimated at 1,047,023 dollars, offset by 750,000 dollars in revenue from fees. Exon urged unity and noted amendments after public hearings.
