February Building Permits Boom in Columbus
February issued 41 building permits by the City Building Department with an estimated construction value of 245,160. The month featured three single family dwellings valued at 160,000. For January and February totals reached 65 permits and 353,610, versus 33 permits and 163,250 in 1975.

Settlement over NBC N logo ends Nebraska ETV dispute

Albion Neb residents learn the City Council selected a 19 acre northwest site for a 119000 sports complex to be funded by federal, state and local sources. New York judge awarded Andre Homere 2500 dollars after he claimed his wife refused to kiss him as before she was punched by a man released from a state mental hospital. The same suit awarded Mrs Gladys Homere 40000 dollars against New York state for releasing the patient who assaulted her in 1972.

Drummond Sentenced for First Degree Sexual Assault
Randy L. Drummond of Columbus was sentenced Friday in Platte County District Court to one year in the Nebraska Penal Complex for first degree sexual assault. Judge C Thomas White presided and took under advisement a separate case against Steve W Sauders, who had prior Platte County Court sentencing for driving while intoxicated including seven days in county jail a $100 fine and six month license suspension.
