Iowan Killed in Wyoming Truck Crash

Lyle Briggs, 36, of Council Bluffs Iowa was killed when two trucks collided one mile north of Laramie on U S 30 Wednesday. The UPI dispatch notes Briggs was the deceased driver in the fatal accident.

Guerrillas and Jets Fire On Israeli Frontier Posts

United Press International reports guerrillas based in Jordan fired rockets at Israeli frontier settlements near the Sea of Galilee while Egyptian jets attacked two Israeli positions in the central Suez Canal sector. Israeli forces returned fire, with no Israeli injuries reported and three guerrillas killed near the Hisfin area on the Golan Heights cease fire line.

VISTA worker Nancy Morgan found dead on Appalachian road

Youth drowns in Lake Manawa

A 16 year old Council Bluffs youth, David Keith Doran, drowned while swimming at Lake Manawa on Wednesday. He was with a companion when trouble began and called for help. beachgoers thought the call was false and no one aided him before the body was recovered shortly after.
