Nebraska judges may set aside juvenile court records nationwide
The 1969 law allows any interested party to petition a Nebraska court to set aside a delinquency adjudication after successful probation or treatment. A judge weighs rehabilitation, public welfare, and whether sealing the record serves justice. Records become sealed and retroactive, with access only by court order for good cause. Platte County Judge Goetz notes actions are civil, not criminal, and retroactivity enables wiping old offenses.
