United Press International reports Lebanese-based Arab guerrillas attacked Metulla with bazookas and small arms Sunday night with casualties. Beirut imposes restrictions to curb cross border attacks. Nasser vows continued struggle. Israeli air raids target Egyptian positions along the Suez Canal and a base in Jordan.
Delegates at the 210th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States open meetings to shape policy on alcohol, abortion, church restructuring, Vietnam War stances and a black manifesto. Dr William A Benfield Jr was chosen moderator over Dr Harry A Fifield by 217 to 212 votes. Benfield, from Charleston West Virginia, holds degrees from Davidson College Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Four people were killed on Nebraska highways in weekend crashes. Mrs. Mary Johnson, 49, of Corvallis, was fatally injured when her car collided with a tractor trailer at a highway intersection in Minden Sunday night. her husband was hospitalized in fair condition. George Smidt, 45, of Minden, and his family suffered minor injuries. In other crashes, Robert Vontz Jr., 19, of Trenton died in a two car collision near Trenton, while Danny Plummer, 17, of rural Grand Island, was killed when his pickup was struck by a Union Pacific train east of Grand Island. Gail L. Maloney, 17, of Bellevue died in a two car crash near Offutt Air Force Base. Kenneth Wentz, 21, of Bellevue, and Michael Taylor, 21, of Offutt, were injured.
