Mitzner released from jail to attend wife’s funeral
UPI reports U.S. District Judge Robert Denney ordered Kenneth Mitzner release from Lancaster County Jail to attend his mother Marianne Mitzner’s funeral. The husband of the slain coin shop manager received four years probation and a $10,000 fine, with a four month sentence suspended. The widow’s body was found bound and gagged at Mitzner Rare Coin Co. in Lincoln. Her 12-year-old son Monte remains with relatives as funeral plans proceed.

One injury occurred when Jeffrey Plahn was bumped at the Howard Boulevard and 2rd Street intersection requiring hospitalization. Martha Brockman suffered the other injury in the same incident. Combined damage from all listed mishaps totals 700 dollars with nine other injury free crashes noted. Additional incidents include various hit and run and parked car damages, a road grader and tractor collision near Columbus township, a pursuit causing damage near Lindsay, and two unpriced cars east of Columbus. Three mishaps were investigated by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department.
