Elephant handlers scoured Oklahoma dense brush near Hugo Reservoir for two runaway elephants named Tan and Lillie. Despite day-long, rain-soaked efforts by Carson and Barnes Circus staff, searchers found no trace as they hoped a storm would force the elephants to stay still. The missing pair, valued at $10,000 each, stand about 4½ feet tall and weigh around 1,500 pounds.

A second mishap Thursday involved Joyce Brakenhoff 2915 Bath Street and Olive Behle 208 First Street at Kwik Shop causing damages of 200 dollars.
