Nixon offers to withdraw all U S troops from Vietnam within a year

President Nixon named a new envoy Bruce for Vietnam and offered to withdraw all U S forces from Vietnam within a year if Hanoi agrees. He warned of prolonged bloodshed if negotiations fail and that air defenses would be bombed. He contrasted danger in the Middle East with Vietnam and defended Cambodia operations as decisive.

Area Fire Crews Contain Two Small Blazes Near Josie Kroft Property

Local firefighters responded to two minor fires near the Josie Kroft Property on Wednesday. One blaze scorched about an acre and a half of land, while another caused smoke damage to paneling after the fire’s appliance motor burned out.
